The starting point for most of my work is a journey. This could be a short walk, a car journey or a trip further afield.
Anstruther to Cellardyke documents my short walk along the Fife coastal path in the form of 24 tiny Scottish souvenir matchbox paintings. The matchboxes incorporate tiny fragments of found objects collected from the journey including chip fork shards, sand, wood and fishing twine. The landscape around us has become so important during lockdown and as an artist I found solace in these small experiences.
