The drawings presented here emerge from an ongoing dialogue between two architects. The outcomes are grounded in a shared appreciation of reading and libraries being common amid their individual architectural interests. Sustained reflection on the nature and ideals of reading spaces informs a range of spatial conditions within an architectural armature. These conditions are articulated through carefully calibrated contrasts of scale, intimacy, orientation, surface and reading subject matter.
