Ginny Page (British (1963)) residing in Denmark since 1985. Working as a full-time professional realist oil painter for 40 years.
For Ginny it is often the most simple things that give the greatest of joy as a painter. Shedding light upon the essential whilst it still exists in the now is her true passion. Many of her paintings, whether they be still life or figurative, often hold hidden symbolisms referring to the transience of life in general.
Ginny is an active member of the Society of Women Artists (SWA) and the Portrait Society of America. Exhibitions include amongst others the Mall Galleries in London with various societies, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Royal Ulster Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, ModPortrait (Barcelona). Represented by Galleries both in Denmark and internationally.
“Spring in My Step” (2023, Oil on panel, 34 x 42 cm)
Scillas are one of the first spring flowers to appear after a long and cold winter in Copenhagen. they bring joy and hope. I painted this funny little quirky cup with dancing elves to remind me of a very happy time in my life right here and now and so grateful for. This painting process definitely put a Spring in My Step!
November Harvest (2020, Oil on Panel 45 x 25cm)
Berries were found in my garden still growing in November due to climate change. The tiny "paradise apples" were found on the roadside. Composed and painted on an old cracked Swedish plate and placed on 2 old bricks salvaged from the chicken house. I needed some comfort from what was going on in the world at the time and to search for beauty and hope. The dead fly is a reminder of a shocking newspaper headline "People dropping like flies" during the Corona epidemic.
