David’s current work is informed by his love of architecture.
He also has a fascination for details, such as the layers of paint revealed through time.
This begins with photos he takes on his walks around cities.
He then makes collages responding to the photos. The tapestries become a patchwork of geometric shapes and textures. The colours are inspired by the layers of peeling paint and chipped walls.
David’s work is about places; some real, some imagined – or a combination of the two.
