Mike McQueen

Description of Work:

Antidote I (Villa Moisi) is a spatial thought experiment prompted by research into the planes, thresholds and movement sequences in Loos’ unbuilt villa at Venice Lido. The creative process reconstructed, then re-imagined, the underlying spatial DNA of the original design. Scalar manipulation and elementary crafting are used to stress-test and speculate on further opportunities within Loos’ spatial intentions. The resulting piece addresses personal subject-based hesitations while exploring and extending value-ambitions in targeted areas beyond norms of conventional architectural expectation.
