Pamela Tait graduated from Grays School of Art, Aberdeen with a BA(hons) in Fine Art. She has been a successful awardee of the VACMA fund which in 2016 saw her work focus on and explore print making.

She was the illustrator for the Scottish indie band Belle and Sebastian ‘Illustrated Lyrics’ book, published by Thames & Hudson and through the Creative Scotland Open Fund collaborated with Scottish writer Douglas Thompson to create ‘Oneironauts’.

The artist:

The imagery in my work predominantly comes through the lens of pareidolia, where within the overlapping branches of the trees I see a gathering of gentle beings. These beings hold the story of togetherness.

Of deepest respect and love for all.

By recognising these otherworldly beings within the trees, a deeper connection with nature has slowly began to grow within me.

My monotype ‘Healing’ is a response to seeing a woman work alongside her horses to heal people. The connection and intelligence she and her horses have moved my soul deeply.

The two larger beings in my piece are working together to heal and guide the little one. The oak leaves adding a layer of ancient oak power - strength and wisdom.

Although this piece is not seen through the lens of pareidolia, the trees have taught me that I can find these beings within me, as their message is my message.
