Jonathan Moss

Statement

The artist: My practice explores the connections between micro and macro perspectives of nature referencing the Sublime tradition of European landscape painting. The initial stage of my creative process begins with microscopic imaging, which serves as inspiration for my prints. While seemingly abstract, my work is always grounded in the 'seen' world. However, I aim for it to transcend its original context, creating a space in which one can lose oneself.

I am particularly drawn to hidden histories. My current project, Self |Cell, delves into identity and neurodiversity, using images of my own cells and the patterns created by fibrins as the blood clots, an act of restructuring my own internal landscape.
