Catherine Stevenson

The artist: My most recent work is inspired by botanical gardens and glass houses. I am influenced by the landscape paintings of Paul Gauguin and the formal compositions of Indian Mughal painting and Japanese prints. These influences are expressed in my paintings which aim to create juxtapositions of realism and stylisation.
