Side, 2024
Yufeng Wu (b. 1999) is a Chinese artist currently living in London. He graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy BA in Stage Art Lighting Design (2021) and Goldsmiths MFA in Fine Art (2024). His recent work and research focus on exploring the connection between queer and desire through space, especially non-place. His works have been exhibited in London, Shanghai, Haikou, and other cities.
Artwork Statement:
A foot was frozen in action, covered with liquid, silver paint, and glitter. No one knew its trajectory and direction, and no one knew where it landed. What happened was no longer important. What future will gender, subculture, duality, or other systems present when symbols and desire are overwritten?
