Changing Ideas Award
Tha e doirbh a thoir mìneachadh air ealain ann an cànain sam bith. Tha anail a Ghàidheil, air a mhullach! bruidhinn air ìomadh cuspeairean agus an t-slighe daonneil. ‘S e pìos a coimhead air ais agus air adhart aig an aon àm. Tha e a sireadh airson teachd nas soillear againn, tha e dòchasaich. Feumaidh sinn a cuir sùil air ais. ‘S ann às a àite nas sine a tha sinne. Feumaidh sinne a bhith air a chìad cheum oir thòisich sinne air a cheum ceart. Suas leis a Ghàidhlig!
"Anail a Ghaidheil, air a mhullach!" | "The Gael’s breathing place - on the summit!" engages with our contemporary human journey. Indeed it might surpass it, going back millennia, but also predicting brighter futures and hopeful choices. The past can inform us of our futures. Money, capital, empire have manipulated and lead us away from these connections. Nature is our biggest ally and we only need realign to it. This is pre-Christian, pre-nation State, pre-Reformation, colonisation, all our entanglements in-spite of all this, we spoke to this place and these places. We connected in every sense, as living beings, in tune with ourselves and the other living things. This piece speaks to that aspiration and hope. Idealistically almost by presenting those ideas as a place to strive for in the future.
