Unraveled Texts is a cultural museum envisioned as an immersive architectural response to the literary heritage of Tamil Nadu. Located in Thanjavur, one of South India's most significant historic centers, the project reframes the museum typology as an experiential narrative environment that brings Tamil literature, memory, and regional identity into built form. The design draws from classical Tamil literary structures, using spatial sequencing to reflect genres from intimate poetic fragments to epic storytelling. Rejecting a linear layout, the museum encourages nonlinear exploration, visitors engage with content based on mood, theme, or curiosity, much like reading a collection of texts. The museum serves as a cultural repository and as a reflective space bridging present and past. This offers a model for cultural architecture rooted in local context, accessible in form, and resonant in Tamil literary traditions through materiality, spatial design, and sensory engagement.
