‘Red Oxide’: the title is named after the colour of pigment that protects the bridge from ever-changing climate conditions. The idiom, ‘Painting the Forth Bridge’ has become a phrase associated with the Sisyphean task of painting the massive steel structure. The Forth Bridge was named number 3 of the UNESCO World Heritage sites most at risk from climate change. The iconic structure is threatened by coastal flood risks with changes in the environment.

Painting the bridge took over two and a half years to complete and at times became my never-ending Sisyphean task.
