Caroline Ann Mordue

Through my paintings, I explore interior scenes and the quiet presence of everyday spaces, finding interest in moments that often go unnoticed. Influenced by artists such as Édouard Vuillard and Gwen John, my approach embraces flattened forms, limited colour, and loosely painted oils, sometimes leaving areas of canvas exposed to let the space breathe. Light, both natural and artificial, becomes a main character within these compositions, creating scenes that suggest a familiar memory while remaining a private moment.
