The artist: I’m a 17 year old artist using oil paints to create portraits with an emotional connection. My work has recently toured with the Scottish Portrait Awards and been exhibited in the Royal Scottish Academy as part of the Society of Scottish Artists Annual Exhibition. At 16, I was commissioned to paint the commemorative portrait of the departing Principal of Gordonstoun; my commission fee was a sailing trip to the Arctic!

My goal is always to produce a piece which the sitter, viewer and the artist feel connected to. I want to challenge the current notion that only art with a loud and labelled meaning has value, as well as capture something of humanity in my work.

In addition to being an artist, I’m a violinist, soprano, keen archer and voluntary member of the Scottish Fire and Ambulance Service.
