Cansu Guvenkaya

‘I try to design a world where fears and worries do not exist. “Hissing Cat”  suggests a playful and colourful way to banish negativity and regain happiness. 

It tears the viewer away from the real world and invites them to a playful space, creating an imaginary world of its own.’

Cansu Guvenkaya is a London based sculptor who graduated top of her class from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2016, receiving the Sakip Sabanci Art Award. She completed her MA in sculpture in 2019 and has exhibited at institutions including the Royal Academy of Arts, Tate Modern and Saatchi Gallery. She has held two solo exhibitions in 2020 and 2023.
