In my artwork I examine the way that society imposes it’s expectations on us with out our knowledge or permission. I try to create works that can be interpreted unique to the viewers experiences.
As a mother of twin sons I am well aware of how the world around us dictates how boys (and girls) should behave. As a mother I worried about raising ‘good’ men and how the world would work against me.
So many mothers world wide lose their sons to gangs, war, drugs, and now the toxic ‘Manosphere’. Their beautiful innocent boys disappear into what the society around them dictates.
Fortunately my sons have grown into good men and now are fathers to sons themselves and I worry how all the horrible actions happening in the world today will steal the innocence of my grandsons. - the artist
