Brian first started experimenting with pinhole photography in 2013. He knew it would give him softer images without any real sharpness and immediately he began to direct the process towards a more painterly and abstract style.
This has led to several series of work using long exposures with lots of movement. This series of Glasgow cityscapes incorporates the motion of a double decker bus as it travels through the city centre. This made the work more impressionistic and often blurred and undefined. With these images he tried to capture a bleak and foreboding vision of the city.
